The firm's Managing Partner,Dorothy Easley, has been re-appointed by The Florida Bar President to serve on the Appellate Certification Committee 2013-15. Easley previously served on this Committee. The Committee is charged with the responsibility of writing the rigorous examination for board certification in appellate law and approving all applications, including ethics reviews, for appellate practitioners to be allowed to sit for the examination.

2012 Super Lawyers
We are pleased to announce that Managing Partner Dorothy F. Easley and Special Counsel Elizabeth C. Wheeler have been selected for inclusion to "Florida Super Lawyers" for 2012.
"Super Lawyers" are attorneys who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Super Lawyers conducts a multi-phased process that includes statewide peer nominations, peer review by practice area and independent research to identify and select attorneys for these recognitions. Only 5% of lawyers in the entire State are named to Florida Super Lawyers.

Easley Appointed to the Appellate Practice Certification Committee 2012-15
Congratulations to Dorothy Easley for her appointment by The Florida Bar President to The Florida Bar Appellate Certification Committee 2011-12. The Appellate Certification Committee is charged wit overseeing the certification of attorneys in the area of law, professionalism and ethics in appellate practice.
Appellate Practice is the practice of law dealing with the recognition and preservation of error committed by lower tribunals, and the presentation of argument concerning the presence or absence of such error to state or federal appellate courts through brief writing, writ and motion practice, and oral argument. Appellate practice includes evaluation and consultation regarding potential appellate issues or remedies in connection with proceedings in the lower tribunal prior to the initiation of the appellate process.
